Working at Height — Checklist

Pre-use checks

Ladders/steps inspected (stiles, rungs, feet, locking bars).
Guardrails, toe-boards or collective protection in place where needed.
Access equipment on firm, level ground; outriggers deployed if applicable.
Weather conditions suitable (wind, rain, ice).

Controls / Method

3 points of contact on ladders; no overreaching.
Harness & lanyard if required; suitable anchor points verified.
Exclusion zone/barriers below; tool lanyards used.
Rescue plan confirmed and communicated.

PPE (examples)

Safety helmet (EN 397) with chinstrap.
Safety footwear (EN ISO 20345).
Cut-resistant gloves (EN 388) – task dependent.
Fall arrest harness (EN 361) + lanyard (EN 354/355) if applicable.
